Origins

Robert Pluckrose, the head of this tree, links to Tree 1006. He is believed to be the son of John Pluckrose and Hannah Rounding (although I do not yet have proof of this).

2389	PLUCKROSE	Ann	C1851 records a birth in Ireland but the 1861 has the correct place, Shoreditch. In 1861, 1871 and 1881 she and her widowed mother are living together, both working as collarmakers.Living in Marylebone, single, with a lodger, both employed as button hole makers. C1901: not found. No marriage or death records found.
2383	PLUCKROSE	Benjamin Thomas	C1841 in Eltham with father and brother William. C1851, lodger, unmarried, farm labourer, living near to his wid. brother John. Not found in later censuses.
2396	PLUCKROSE	Hannah	1851: house servant in London recorded as Hannah Lowen, 20, unmarried, b. Woodford Bridge. C1861: Hannah Mason, "wife" although not yet married to William Mason. Married in 1863, no father named for Hannah.

2381	PLUCKROSE	John	I don't have any other source for John's birth yet. C1841: in Green Lane Greenwich with his wife, Mary, and his 9 year old sister, Jane. C1851: living in Charlton, a lodger, wid., age 31, farm lab., born Woodford, his brother, Benjamin, lives nearby. Not found in later censuses; there are a couple of possible deaths in South London ca 1858.

1608	PLUCKROSE	Robert B	C1841: in Eltham with Benjamin and William but no other family. C1851: in Eltham, a widower, age 61, born Woodford, labourer. C1861: not found. He was buried in Woodford on 11 June 1859 but no death record has been found in the GRO index. There is a death of a Thomas at the right time in the West Ham RD - this could be a clerical error on the part of the Union staff.
2377	PLUCKROSE	Robert H	C1841 (6 June) he is living in the City of London, a male servant, no family. Not quite married ? or living apart from his wife. C1851 he is a cab driver living with his family in Shoreditch.
2385	PLUCKROSE	William	C1841 in Eltham with father and brother Benjamin.
2388	PLUCKROSE	William	The 1851 census says he was born in Ireland but this is almost certainly a mistake. C1861: he is on board HMS Hannibal in the Mediterranean - a boy, 2nd class [caution: there is another William born at about the same time (Q3 1845) in Lewisham who could fit the bill - place of birth is given only as London. The other William is perhaps a little young to fit the age given (17) and I think it possible he died in Lewisham in Q2 1887.] Not found in later censuses.
