Gilston Pluckroses
Origins
John Pluckrose's origins are unknown at present. He is more or less contemporary with William Pluckrose who heads the current top of the main Pluckrose tree. William's first child was born in Ickleton in 1602 and John's first child in Gilston in 1623. From a chronological point of view William and John could be first cousins, or even brothers. However, Ickleton and Gilston are about 25 miles apart which makes this relationship unlikely, although not impossible. People did not often travel very far during this period. Parish records began in 1538 so a link may be found one of these days.

2074 | PLUCKROSE | Daniel | This could be the Daniel Pluckrose who heads Tree 1007. All that is known about him at the moment is that he, and his wife Mary, christened their son Daniel in Harlow in 1764. Gilston is about a mile north of Harlow. |
2050 | PLUCKROSE | Sarah | mother not named on baptism record |
2047 | PLUCKROSE | William | mother not named on baptism record - presumably still Collett? |
This tree has been compiled mainly from IGI controlled extraction data. It lacks detail and ends in 1770. The story probably continues in the records of nearby Harlow (Tree 1007).
